Michael Moore

Michael Moore is an impressive young athlete with a notable track record in sports at just 15 years old, attending Diamantveld High School in Kimberley, South Africa. His early achievements in both ice and field hockey, alongside a promising rugby career, showcase his exceptional talent and dedication to sports. Michael’s participation in provincial ice hockey for the Leopards U14 team at only 12 years old highlights his early start and potential in the sport. Playing provincial field hockey for the U14 Northern Cape High Schools team in 2022, and earning Diamantveld half colours in sports, further underscores his versatility and skill across different forms of hockey. In rugby, Michael has demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt and excel in various positions, from playing as a prop and flank in the U14A team to covering inside and outside centre positions. His participation and performance in the U15 tour to the George Outeniqua tournament, where his team won 2 out of 3 games against top schools like Eldoraigne and Stellenberg, significantly improved their ranking from the top 60 to the top 20. This achievement is a testament to Michael’s impact on the field and his contribution to his team’s success. His ambition to make the Northern Cape Craven week team reflects his commitment to reaching higher levels in rugby. The upcoming participation in the Wildeklawer tournament in May is an excellent opportunity for Michael and his team to showcase their skills and further improve their ranking. At the academic front, being in Grade 10 allows Michael to balance his sports commitments with his education, a critical aspect for any young athlete’s development.
